Tips to make the perfect charcuterie board / grazing platter straight from the Islands

Just because the summer is coming to an end doesn't mean I'm ready to let it go! My favorite way to enjoy the end of the summer is to put together a Hawaiian style grazing platter for my friends and family.
When putting together a charcuterie board/grazing platter it's important to include a variety of flavors, colors, textures and balance. But the most important thing to remember is to choose foods you love!
What to Put on a Hawaiian Charcuterie Board
There are several foods to include on a Hawaiian style board, but here are some of my favorites:
Bananas - I like to cut bananas horizontally into bite-sized pieces.
Strawberries - A beautiful way to display strawberries is to leave them whole but then slice them vertically up to the stem.
Cheese - A great compliment to Hawaiian fruits is cheese. My favorites include Marin French Cheese Petite Cream and Westminster Vintage Cheddar.
Spreads - I always like to add a spread to a board to add some flavor in your bites. My favorite spread for Hawaiian boards in Quince Spread.
Crackers - Garlic and herb water crackers are a great base to stack cheeses, spreads and fruits on.
Sushi - The best centerpiece to a board is a sushi roll! I love to pick one up and spread it through the center between all the fruits and crackers bringing all the ingredients together.
Papaya & Mango - I love these fruits for anything tropical. They just scream beach and sun!
Pineapple - I think this one is a giveaway! I don't think there's another food that symbolizes Hawaii like a pineapple does.
Happy Grazing!
